I fished up Gruff Fisher's Net after a few casts in a normal Ice Crack when the fishing spot was Rich.

Should Grimtusk be showing as a Fishing Hole?

Renown 16 currently. Got the fishing hole showing for River Mouth and Burning Ascent but there's nothing in Azure at the Grimtusk spot. No quest's to accept and it's not even showing as a fishing hole.

This quest is incredibly hit and miss. It's active for me some days, but not most. I think it might be bugged and is only resetting on the weekly reset? I can always do the daily restock quest, but rarely can I get the second net. Renown 14 so it's not a missing renown issue (and that wouldn't make sense because I've done it at least twice to begin with.)

For those wondering why this quest might not show up:

1) Grimtusk's Fishing Hole must be active. At the weekly reset the fishing holes rotate. So far for me the Waking Shores has been a constant, but week 1 it was in Ohn'aran Plains and week 2 at Grimtusks. The active fishing holes are the only places you can do dailies.

2) You can only do ONE extra fishing net across all available fishing holes. So if you went to Waking Shores to do both the Ottuk quest and Restock quest, you will only have the restock quest at the other one. Doing the daily to unblock a net removes access to the corresponding 'unblock net' daily at other fishing holes for that day. So if you're looking to do 'Net Worth', make sure to visit Grimtusk's Fishing Hole before any other fishing hole that day.

I think you also have to have completed the full Grimtusk questline leading up to it, but I assume most people have done that.

If you have the required renown and find that the second quest (or fishing nets) aren't showing to count towards the achievement Taking From Nature, be sure to go back to the previous weeks' fishing hole and loot the nets there.

This was the last part I needed and the nets and quest weren't showing; after going back to the fishing hole from last week and looting them, this quest and nets appeared.

You must collect your fish from another set net before you can get this quest and the other ones, I presume. It appears you can only SET a new net once the other associated net was collected from. (blocked net or standard net in a fishing hole).

I have reached maximum reputation level on every faction.
I have never been able to get this quest since the expansion is out.

When the Grimtusk area is available, I always to there first.
The only quest ALWAYS available here asks you to get fish, and drop those in a fishing ice hole 3 times.

That's it. I have never, ever, seen this quest since the expansion it out.
Unable to complete the "Taking from nature" achievement.

I always get to Grimtusk first. Have no net filled anywhere else.

I FINALLY figured out why this quest / net wasn't coming up for me - it could be because you need the Iskaaran Ice Axe to "break the ice". (Sorry - I don't know how to link it)

If you have not seen this quest, make sure of the following:

1. Don't do any other zone fishing dailies for the current week
2. Check to see that the Grimtusk fishing area is up/available - they change every week
3. You have to be Dragon Flight fishing 50
4. Go to Three-Falls Lookout in The Azure Span and pick up the purple glowing Pickaxe Blade located at 18.9, 24.3 near some barrels
5. Head to Iskaara and visit Tavio to craft an Iskaaran Ice Axe
6. Now you will be able to ice Fish (from Ice Cracks) and free the tangled fishing net to help with the achievement Taking From Nature

There may be an issue with this quest on at least some servers (Illidan in my case, have reproduced it across multiple characters, and others have reported it as well).

Accepting the quest may make it impossible to fish from ice holes. (Attempting to loot the line just recasts the line, no loot). Dropping the quest restores expected ice fishing behaviour.

If you're seeing this, you're (probably) not crazy! Noticed and reported to support on May 10 2023.

I was having the same issue looting the Gruff Fisher's Net like everyone else. I couldn't get any fish while I was on the quest. Clicking on the bobber would just automatically recast again.

However, the Fyrakk Assault was going in the same week. Once his bar hit 100% and he started frying the zone, the server began getting laggy but I was magically able to loot fish (including Gruff Fisher's Net) without issue.

I'm not sure how this will help people, but it seems that there's some sort of timing issue on the server preventing us from fishing this quest item while on the quest. My thanks goes to Fyrakk for being able to finally complete the Taking From Nature achievement!

This quest can bug out, where when you try to click the bobber to reel it in, it just auto recasts.

I found using the "interact with" key (for me it is bound to my "F" key) instead of clicking the bobber, lets me reel in my catches with no problem. Quest item and Fish included.

Game Menu (escape) > Options > Controls(Gameplay) > Enable Interact Key (select) > Interact With Target (should show which key it is bound to, if not, bind it to a convenient key)

I was looking for this quest but it turns out that the fishing hole quality has to be good. Quest immediately popped up after the quality turned from moderate to good.

Still broken as of today. There's an assault up. Waiting for Fyrakk to hit 1005 doesn't work, but using the interact-with key does work, so there's the workaround.

Like many others:
- I NEVER saw this quest come up despite having appropriate renown, doing first fishing of the week, etc.
- I couldn't do anything other than recast when I tried to collect catches from ice holes

Grimtusk's Fishing Hole stock MUST BE GOOD or better (check the bar under 'The Azure Span' when you're in the quest area) to see the quest. I blew through all my banked fish giving them to Young Quickhands to restock and had run the restock quest to boot. The moment the bar hit Good the quest became available.

Next issue was how to reel in a catch from an ice hole. I used the Reusable Oversized Bobber toy (this alone may be enough for you but in case you don't have one read on) and, after casting, spun my camera around (180) to look at myself (so the bobber was between me and the camera) and got my camera as low to the ice as possible. First click attempt worked and I got the quest item in addition to Strong Seavine and a Frosted Rimefin Tuna. Turned in the quest and got my achieve (it was the last one needed like many others have stated).

Thanks to folks who posted individual tips! I wanted to have both issues documented in a single comment. Good hunting (and fishing)!

This quest is still buggy, where when you try to click the bobber to reel it in, it just auto-recasts.
However the following trick fixed the problem for me, and then after the quest was completed I had no problem going back to fishing normally.

Use the "interact with" key (default is bound to the "F" key) instead of clicking the bobber. I was able to then collect catches without it just auto-recasting.

You can find enable and change your "Interact" key as follows:

Game Menu (escape) > Options > Controls(Gameplay) > Enable Interact Key (select) > Interact With Target (should show which key it is bound to, if not, bind it to a convenient key)

EDIT To Add:

It appears that if you've already done the daily with Brix Rocketcast to unblock the net in The Waking Shores, this quest, Net Worth will not be available for that day. Yesterday I finished Brix's quest before I went ice-fishing. Despite the area being Great, the Net Worth quest was not available to me. Today, it was, but when I went to the Waking Shore fishing hole Brix's quest is not available to me.

Seems these two quests are linked and only one can be done per day. Hope that helps with some confusion.

The quest is bugged: when you're on it, you can only recast until you get a net.

The solution: use your "interact" key to loot the bobber to get the net, and then you can fish as normal.

I have tried every suggestion here on multiple toons; sometimes the suggestions work, sometimes not so much (recast issue)

What has always worked thus far is a key binding to "Interact with Target" You can find it under Options..Controls

This quest is nonstop bugged and nothing help. Blizzard ignoring reports tens times as always, we cannot expect collapsing company can do anything to fix own products.

This worked for me today. I used oversized bobber and put my camera angle level with the ground and targeted the top of the bobber ring. and it worked. hope this helps :-)

For those doing this now that A World Awoken was released...you can't just fish the quest item up out of the pools of water already there. You have to find the ice cracks in the lake, and use the extra action to cut through the ice and create a new pool.

See comments below regarding the bugs due the Fyrakk Assaults, etc. on how to loot the pools if you are having issues with that. Personally the interact key always works for me. While the Fyrakk assault makes it annoying to get done, it is still completable while its active.

FWIW if the Fyrakk Assault is up you won't see the fishing hole map icon but the quests are still available if the fishing hole rotation is on this one.

If you have troubles fishing for Net Worth (aka you get a recast instead of loot when you click the bobber) hover over it and when you get a bite press F (or what key u have assigned to "interact with target").

I am maxed on renown and fishing. Fish icons on the Grimtusk hole are on the map and I can fish from them but there is no daily. How can you tell if the the fishing hole is actually "up" for the week?

this achievement is frustrating, Its been like 3 weeks and every other week the fyrak assault is up. So guess i have to wait another week for achievement. Its frustrating.

Does anyone know how to get Grimtusk's Fishing Hole Net? I Have Ice Axe, Max level in Fishing and Renown 30 with Iskara. I noticed that you need this quest to unlock some Blocked Net that doesnt appear to me as well as daily doesnt appear. How often do these holes rotate? Daily, weekly? When should I check if I have the quest up? Blizzard is sending me auto-replies and not being helpful about this :(
