Archon looks extremely powerful for SP, but is thematically boring. Voidweaver is so cool, but the 1m burst potential of Archon will propably be stronger, unless you have giga pulls in dungeons and voidrifts uncapped dmg is better.Rogue's casino talents look actually fun
Anyways, imagine hating Outlaw for 8 years but still continuing to play it, and continuing to scream any time Outlaw things happen to the Outlaw tree
I can't believe they're doubling down on stealth dancing for outlaw. This is so frustrating.
Fatebound tree is pretty much completely non-interactive and amounts to free damage for nothing as long as you are slamming 5+ point finishers.10/10 will flip coins all day
The Outlaw hero talents are almost insulting.I'd already written off trickster because why would you make Feint a rotational ability and what in the blue hell is a 'distracted' target (Is it just smth i hit with Distract? does it work with the weird smoke bomb distract? is it just supposed to be 'fazed' but they changed terminology?)I hoped fatebound would be decent but it's more passive rng trash with a capstone that does nothing for short fights, might be busted in long fights and will scale like dog#$%^. It carries so much anti-synergy with the BtE focus they introduced in the 'rework' and instead focuses on low-probability rewards, it's like they swapped the wannabe cowboy that pushed crackshot through with a gambling statistician in need of new labrats. It'll add so many more 'feel bad' moments to crackshot windows without ace procs, bone droughts, and just how awful spec design makes downtime. The inevitible weakauras will tell you 'streak of 6' so you'll dispatch to increase the odds (mb even in crackshot windows) just to get gut punched by 'streak broken'. All the while the spec has to be 'balanced' so parsers and statistics-illiterates don't throw a hissy fit cause every raid fight might be dominated by the 1 in a million turbo-lucky outlaw variance god runs. The stacking layers of rng are so out of hand. This on top of Bones on top of Ace on top of Audacity on top of Opportunity on top of crit. 2 awful hero talent sets, and all the while the plethora of other issues aren't being addressed. Mastery still being a joke. Outlaw not having a cooldown cause it's either 'Rush is on and spec feels coherent' or 'rush is off and i'm being waterboarded in molasses'. Energy being made pointless. Slice and BF management being made irrelevant (unless your rush drops cause you didn't roll enough true bearing heehee). I just wanna play sword rouge. Swords, Energy, Combo Points, Kidney Shot, Gouge, Blind. I was tolerating Outlaws bs because the core kit is still there and it's still good and great and fantastic and beautiful and gorgeous and plump. But i was already close to dropping it. And these 2 dissapointments of hero specs are making a damn good case. Mb blizz will finally allow mogging swords over daggers so I can escape the RNJuice.
Tested fatebound on alpha. Its pretty dang solid. The buffs stack and “rng” isn’t a wild swing when several triggers work to keep the buffs or command them when you want when death mark/ attacking from true stealth/ or hitting dispatch for outlaw. You can pretty reliably land 5-6 stacks and you really crank . The fatebound coin adds a considerable amount if damage on your next envenom / dispatch immediately and if you use one of the triggers mentioned previously through on demand damage, you instead build an additional stack. It is solid and complements the profiles regardless of the incessant complaining. The developers did well. The lucky coin activates after 7 stacks and is permanent when you remain in combat and only decays out of it as truthful to the tooltip. The 1% goes a long way when paired with the specialization kits. The power from it all is cumulative / compounding regarding frequency of interactions respective to the kits of outlaw and assassination.
Looks like I'll have to place all my hopes on deathstalker. The first two "hero" trees for rogue are incredibly unimpressive, especially considering that they've had more time to cook than all other classes. If deathstalker is at least passable, then I can live on as sub rogue and hopefully largely ignore the hero aspect.
I love the sound of Fatebound, but I'm worried the meta knights will make Blizzard ruin it. And I say that as someone who dislikes Roll the Bones, because Fatebound (at least for Outlaw) doesn't seem to need extra microing and is just generally unintrusive. I just wanna stab and blast, I don't need more.I do hope there will be a little graphic effect for the coin flip
Thought SPs could choose either Voidweaver or Archon, yet Archon literally offers nothing to SP making the choice redundant...Edit -- ah, article linked Holy... talent calculator has Shadow's tooltips.
Archon looks strong for Holy Priest. Probably every Mythic Raid comp will be running 1 for the extra stamina.
"each effect is increased by 20% each time your coin flip matches last flip"wait does it means.. if you get lucky you can scale that infinetely?and same goes for 1% to all stats after 7 hits in a row if u don't leave combat
Deathstalker when.
Archon is so boring, no flavour at all :'(
Shadow Archon sounds great aswell! It feels like the shadow priest finally got the justice it deserved after so many years of struggle. As a vanilla priest who remember the days of being a mana bank for other casters, having no aoe and when u got it it was mindsear xD and the Cascade/Shadow orb version that was actually loved got deleted.Shadow has actually never been this great!
