Dig up and kill the tiny worms until the big worm spawns. Killing it gives you the key for the chest. The chest has to be dug up in front of the small pond to the right of the first pond you find.

There are reddish-brown dust clouds throughout the cave. If you use sniff on the cloud, Myritt says, "Phew, that's worm stink!"
Use Burrow and Dig on top of the dust and a worm will spawn. Not 100% sure of the trigger for Diganthor, but he spawned after I killed 3 smaller worms and dropped the Spit-covered Key.
Diganthor can respawn, so just be aware of that.

Not having much luck with this one. I've killed over 20 of the small worms without spawning Diganthor
Any ideas?

This is by far the worst of these I have done, I'm 40 minutes in and about to quit it. There are only a handful of spawn points for the small worms and they have an incredibly long respawn timer. To add insult to injury, the treasure chest dig spot can respawn (you don't get a second chest, you just get the animation/dialogue again).

The only thing I can think of that is "good" is that Ash Feathers spawn inside, for some reason, at a fairly decent rate, so if you actually still need those, at least that could give you something to do in there.

just to add the chest is not part of the dust clouds use the sniff ability around the tunnels to find where the chest is it was an invisible dig spot until it was uncovered by the sniff ability

Just so no one struggles as I did. Diganthor won't spawn if you're in a raid group.

I'm stuck on this quest. I have the Spit-covered Key, according to what it says in the Objectives, but the chest remains locked. I have killed many worms and Diagnor or whatever his name is. The chest remains locked. There doesn't appear to be a way to abandon this quest and do it over again, and it's basically blocking my ability to accomplish the Aiding the Accord Quest. Not sure what to do.

A little further beyond the chest/pond area up the tunnel is a buried "Treasure Whiskers" to give you an additional quest, "Slimy Yet Satisfying".
Can confirm that after finding the chest and making it appear, the the giant worm, Diganthor, spawned after I killed off 5 small worms. He dropped the Spit-covered key to open the chest.

fyi this one is has been bugged for me for months and many others it seem blizzard is aware and still no fix sadly.
