The quest was bugged for me. I could catch the fish but I wasn't getting progress. Once you catch 3 fish you can turn it in even though it doesn't look like you can. Just click through the gray ?'s and the continue button works.

Fishing next to the NPC is okay. The marker looks a little off on a nearby island but that doesn't seem to give progress.

Doing it on an alt - seems like you need to catch 2-3 random fish, or maybe walk 20 yds away from the NPC or something, and then the next 3 casts are fish? Not entirely sure what the logic is doing behind the scenes.

To anyone doing this quest, and are new to "Professions", simply go into your spellbook --> professions tab and move the "fishing" icon to your spell bar. Try not to go on the island where it directs you too, simply move to the area between the Horn sticking out of the ground and the boat, and start fishing. You'll catch a lot of fish this way!

I haven't tried fishing in the Azure Span RIGHT after learning DF Fishing until now, but this is a a good quest to level your fishing up with before turning it in. I got zero trash, nothing but fish, even after I caught my 3 minnows.

36 Thousandbite Piranha,
21 Islefin Dorado,
and who knows how many Scalebelly Mackerel because I kept throwing them in the water to up my fishing skill even though I probably didn't need to.

No bait, no hat, just an item level 346 Draconium Fisherfriend, and an application of Reusable Oversized Bobber. I reached DF Fishing 100 right as it wore off (1 hour). You may get there sooner, if you don't have to run away from Fyrakk.

Description

Another pair of hands! I could use some help catching enough fish to bring home for a meal. These Kirin Tor seem concerned about something called magical anomalies in the area, whatever that means. You're all welcome to stay here as long as you pitch in and help out. Grab a fishing pole and start fishing. Many hands make light work!
