Various mobs across the Forbidden Reach will drops Sealed Fish Scrolls which send you to collect an item, and then return it to the respective NPC at Morqut Village. I couldn't definitively find an area that was best to farm them and the best advice I can offer is to kill as many rares as you can, loot any treasures you see and otherwise farm in mob-dense areas.

Turn in Draconic Artifact to Cataloger Daela.
Turn in Wondrous Fish to Turik.
Turn in Token of Blessing to Storykeeper Ashekh.
Turn in Mysterious Writings to Kraxxus.

Some advice now that I've done the grind.

Azure Scrying Crystal are obviously great but at 2000 overflow per can be a bit pricy, especially if you're saving for the mount. What I did to save a bit of overflow was to turn off auto loot, but periodically loot the mobs to check the loot. The increased drop chance is applied when mobs die/loot is viewed, but the buff isn't removed until you actually loot one. So you can "preview" the loot without picking it up and potentially get multiple scrolls from one Scrying Crystal. Not gamebreaking by any means but a nice way to save some overflow. I also tried not looting it to see if the Postmaster would send it to you and it appears that isn't the case.

Scrolls stack in your bags so you don't need to use them/turn them in right away. It seems that each type of scroll has roughly 5 spawn points, so I'd recommend you use no more than that many without going to loot them, or you may override an existing one and waste a scroll (since achievement progress is given when you loot the item marked with an X, not when you loot the scroll) so be cautious of that.

Just to confirm you can stack multiple scrolls in your inventory. You dont have to do the scroll right away to loot more. To speed up the achievement I would really recommend buying multiple Azure Scrying Crystal From Kraxxus. From what I found out Joining key farming groups in LFG and killing elites in the war creche was the fastest way.

You can use Azure Scrying Crystal from Kraxxus in town to make these scrolls drop more often, but beware, this items buff is consumed on loot. So you will need to buy more to maintain your buff for every scroll looted.

I started off farming this achievement by looting treasures to wok on Hoarder of the Forbidden Reach at the same time. After getting this achievement, I felt looting the treasures was not efficient, so I started farming mobs with the above buff at /way 57.77, 66.69
These mobs respawn instantly after you start killing them. They also drop the JC boss summoning item Crystal Fork which is used to craft Crystal Tuning Fork - which sells for quite a bit. I was averaging a scroll every 5 minutes or less. I finished the 50 looted in a few hours.

Edit: They have fixed the really quick respawning but you can rotate the south courtyard and the top part for efficient kills.(##RESPBREAK##)396##DELIM##Buuloki##DELIM##

This achievement seems kinda off the track to be honest... 50 of these scrolls will require a ton of grinding, with or without the crystal buff. Anyone grinding for this will long be done with everything else on this island, including all other achievements, pets, mounts, mogs, whatever... so this is just a time-filler to get the meta achievement.
They could have done it account-wide or lower the needed scrolls, or at least make the Azure Scrying Crystal last 1h and not beeing consumed as soon as you find one. 2k Elemental Overflow is way too much for the little it gives. How do you guys feel about this one?

I would suggest buying Reliquary Scroll of Perception to do Hoarder of the Forbidden Reach first, as there is a good chance you will get a bunch of scrolls from looting the small treasures, saving you a lot of resources.

In one hour I got about 25 small treasures and they gave me 5 scrolls.

You can have multiple scroll marks active on the map, up to 1 per possible spawn point (which should be around 5 per different scroll). You don't waste any scrolls by using them even if you have used up all the spots, it will just trigger a warning, telling you that you have to loot at least one spot to be able to use another scroll.

Fastest way to collect them if you have multiples of a scroll (5+) is to stand at one spawn point and just press one scroll after another. It will always spawn right in front of you, if you "blocked" the other spots already.

This achivm is not that annoying if you have a lot of Elemental Overflow to spare. Azure Scrying Crystal greatly increase the drop rate (from any mobs) but the buff goes away once you loot a scroll.

Aka 2000 overflow per scroll. 50 scrolls = 100k overflow which is not that much if you are also farming the rares.

I think the best (or rather quickest) way is to use Azure Scrying Crystals and join a War Creche group. I was at 15/50 and managed to get to 40/50 within a couple of hours. Still quite a hellish grind though, and you'll need to use one Crystal per scroll, so can be quite costly if you haven't accumulated a lot of Overflow.

step 3. make your bags full
step 4. fly around forbidden reach collecting all the treasures and killing all the reares without looting scrolls in your bags
step 5. collect scrolls from your mail
step 6. collect all the treasures from your scrolls

reuse items from step 1 and step 2 every hour

Edit: as Gwez pointed out, it only works with caches and rares, hence why in "step 4" i didn't mention killing mobs.

P.s. orverall this way is not fastest but if you want to save yourself some Elemental Overflow so you can buy everything else, you might like it, it's pretty chill

My feedback after reading the comments and farming the scrolls.

Always keep the Azure Scrying Crystal buff active. It is removed after looting a scroll so have a bunch in your inventory to rebuff. They are annoying in that they don't stack. Free up some bag space.

Don't use the scrolls and loot the items as you go, save all scrolls until you have enough to finish the achievement. Much faster done at the end and they stack so use just 4 bag slots.

If you haven't completed Hoarder of the Forbidden Reach, grab Reliquary Scroll of Perception and get farming the small treasures. Some comments suggest not looting scrolls as they get sent to your mail, but when I tried the Postmaster didn't send the scroll to me, just the greys.

When you are done with Hoarder, join a War Creche farming group. Make sure you refresh the Scrying buff when you loot a scroll. Try to tag the non-elites before they turn grey from 5+ tags. With some large pulls you can get more than one scroll dropping, so don't loot until they are all dead. Don't worry too much about inventory management, your bags will be full quickly, but scrolls should already have slots assigned.

The standard route for these groups is from the start, move through clearing everything and end at Warden's room, where you use the portal to go back to the start. If you join while they are deep in, just wait at entrance for them to port back. Also use this reset point to grab more Scrying items if getting low. The Morqut Hearth Totem can help minimise downtime.

When you have enough scrolls to complete the achievement, use all that you can and fill the map with crosses. You will get an error if you can't spawn a new treasure, but it doesn't use up the scroll. Go to the nearest treasure and loot it, then use the same type of scroll and it will spawn in the same place. Loot and repeat for that scroll. Do for each type then clear the map.

Just a little tip : if you spam click the Mysterious Writings object or use the interact key really fast, you can get 2 of them and also get double credit, saves a bit of time. Was not able to do it with the catching fish thing Wondrous Fish but Token of Blessing and Draconic Artifact should work too.

Went an entire hour with the buff until it expiring and didnt get a single one. Maybe after the first kill the chance is lower.

After this experience of farming rares and chests, went to creche for an hour and they dropped like candy, ended up with way more than the 50 I needed because I thought it was 100 scrolls for the achivement (lol).

posting this to save time since another comment wasted my time:

You can't go kill a bunch of mobs in the war creche (with buff), not loot and expect these to be mailed to you.

NOTHING THAT IS NOT LOOTED IN WAR CRECHE IS MAILED.

Not a single item. Not a scroll, not a gray item, not an armor token. If you do not loot, it will DISAPPEAR.

I spent over 40 minutes and tagged everything (no gray health bars). This is not bad RNG, it either never worked or Blizz has stealth patched this.

So, this one wasn't too bad. It's going to be easiest now because of all the War Creche groups going on, the longer you wait to do it; the longer it will take I imagine. It took me around 5 hours or so of farming to get 40 from the original ten that I had. The double click for Sealed Artifact Scroll was working for me when I was completing this.

This achievement is obnoxious.

I spent an two hours in the War Creche farming mobs through mass pulls (Prot Warrior) and got a grand total of one scroll. WITH the Scrying Crystal buff active. One of those buffs just fell off after 1 hour of not seeing a drop.

How is this meant to be fun, exactly? My buff item feels like it didn't even make a dent in drop rate.

Just a tip. Treasure drop chance for scrolls seem to be based off of shard population. As in how many other people in your shard are also opening treasures. I farmed for a few hours with war mode off and got a fair bit but decided to turn war mode on and ended up getting 4 scrolls within 5 minutes. Almost a scroll each treasure. So probably best to do this in war mode. Also rares drop scrolls as well. And Forbidden Hoards have almost a 100% drop rate for me.

This achievement is definition of easy. The only thing you need to do is making a group and name it whatever farm that has high value at the time (for me was Fork Farm or something like that, i got no idea what's that :D) Then farm for 2 hour in Froststone vault in Forbidden Reach ofc, entrance is at 60 37. it took me like 90 minutes to farm all 50 scrolls. You can Buy some Azure Key and then farm adds there in a group and loot every 5-6 minutes. you gonna get 3-4 Scroll per azure buff. (Credit to Kazzakmonk )

Fastest way to do this is to join the lunker farming group, equip yourself with ample supply of Azure crystals and just harpoon the fish.

Managed to complete this ach on both chars in 2-3 hours farming per char. Sometimes I got double scrolls, you can wait to loot several lunkers at once.

Depending on your luck, you get more sealed and artifact scroll so you can double click the treasures.

Good luck and I advise you to do this before new patch, not sure how many groups will be there once it is out.

For some reason, in 10.1, there's just no treasures anywhere on the reach, besides the boxes in the war creche. Not even a bone pile in sight. I fly around with the Reliquary Scroll of Perception but do not see anything anywhere other than the war creche.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but farming 50 of these scrolls with give you 12,500 Dragon Isle Supplies. This is a great way to get easy and fast supplies!

So as of 10.1.5 as this island is dead and quiet, and as a Disc priest whose damage is light...

I was grabbing a the buff to see small treasures and using the buff to find scrolls at the same time. I was able to farm 12+ per hour, far faster and easier than trying to farm kills. Buy the scroll buff in bulk and just refresh as you loot.

And always double click your X mark. Not all count twice, but a few.

Ok, this achievement is not as hard or as frustrating as some people make it out to be.

A few tips when working your way through this in case people overlooked things:

1: Keep your minimap zoomed all the way OUT. I used the minimap to guide me around the zone at all times.

2: Reliquary Scroll of Perception. Purchased from Cataloger Daela for 2000x Elemental Overflow each. Don't even bother if you're not using this. You would be surprised, but people DO forget about this.

3: Always carry a stack of Azure Scrying Crystal, purchased from Kraxxus again for 2000x Elemental Overflow each. As soon as you loot a Sealed Artifact Scroll, you lose the buff from the crystal, NOT when you loot the treasure found using the scroll.

4: Go immediately to your "special treasure" as soon as its marked, and don't loot anything else. This will be marked with a big red "X" on your main map. Even if there's another treasure nearby on your minimap, DON'T use another crystal until you loot your special treasure. That very next treasure chest could be one less that might have had another scroll if you were buffed back up again before you go back to loot.

5: ALWAYS SPAM CLICK your special treasure, this is probably the most important point of all. You'll get at least double credit towards your count for the achievement. I have heard reports of players looting the same special treasure up to three times by spamming, but have not personally had that happen myself. Additionally, I have only ever been able to loot a Wondrous Fish once even after spamming, in the cases where a scroll turns out to be a Sealed Fish Scroll.

6: I did regular flyovers of The War Creche and Froststone Vault areas before flying in, to save time. If there are chests present inside any of those areas they will still show up on your minimap from above.

I did this achievement solo, however as a rogue I'm playing the game on MY terms, so it's obviously going to be a bit quicker.
Using the methods above, I was able to loot between 10 and 15 of the achievement items on average inside one perception window each time I went to the Forbidden Reach.

It's not as daunting as some people think, all you need is time and patience. it's just another one of those no brainer activities/achievements you can knock out with some music or something on your second monitor.

im kinda stuck at 29/50, cant pick up any treasures anymore. tried changing warmode, relogging, leaving the area and everything else i could think of. its just throwing the net at the fish but nothing happens. anyone know a fix or whats the problem? i activated another scroll, same thing happening with the new treasure

This is infuriating to say the least. 3 nights ago, I farmed the War Creche on my own and in 2 hours, got 1 scroll. Last night I came back out, farmed for 2 hours and got about 20 scrolls. I needed 7 more, but couldn't stay up any longer. Now, I'm back out here, it's been over an hour and I've gotten 2. All nights I had the buff. I shouldn't have waited until this was "old content" to farm these, but I did not realize it would be this much of a hassle.

Finally went back this week after not doing this when it was current content. I started out by only hunting treasure which was around 5 scrolls / hour. I ended doing the last 20 by killing mobs inside the cave which was alot better for me where i could get around 15 in 1 hour. Pretty easy to solo with 460+ ilvl

The "spam interact button to receive two items" trick seems to have been hotfixed. I know this because I remember using it in the past, but now it doesn't seem to work any longer. Spamming the interact key, but only getting one item.

I've had a lot of luck finding these when I use my Azure Scrying Crystal and loot a Forbidden Hoard. I probably get 1 of these out of every 3 hoards. For me, it's been the easiest way to get these.

I just finished doing it, the best outcome is to get 10x Azure Scrying Crystal and go kill elite mobs in the cave at around 51.4 60.5 while in there, remember to get the mobs from rooms (after using the teleporter) and use the portal at the end to just go to the entrance and sell loot. I was doing the treasures whenever I got 5 of them on map and just going back to grind more.

Easy Achievement (but quite repetitive) for Season 3 geared Level 70 Dragonflight, even easier Achievement for Level 80-100 Worldsoul Saga & beyond...

1. If you're like me, this was your last achievement in the Forbidden Reach, so you have a lot of spare Elemental Overflow, so buy a dozen Azure Scrying Crystal from the vendor in the main camp. If not, just buy a few you can afford.

1b. Also good to buy Reliquary Scroll of Perception so you can see the chests in your local area on the minimap, as these will occasionally have scrolls in them as well.

2. Then head to the War Creche cave at 51, 60 in the middle of the island.

3. Clear the elites, going back and forth throughout the entire cave on rotation, and everytime a scroll drops for you, reapply a new Azure Scrying Crystal. Do not use a looted scroll when it drops, it will stay in your inventory.

4. Also loot the chests that spawn in the cave as well.

5. Everytime I went in there, day or night, other players were around and sometimes they'll help you out or follow you around for a bit.

6. Went from 22 to 50 in just a couple sittings. Some rounds only one will drop, others 4-5 will drop. It's entirely RNG.

7. Once you're out of Azure Scrying Crystals, exit the cave, go back to the vendor, buy another dozen, rinse & repeat the above.

8. Finally, once you've exited the cave, you can also use the scrolls you looted, one at a time, mapping and taking the treasure each time, which will count to your achievement.

9. ?

X. Profit. Achievement Completed.

With the newly released meta achievement A World Awoken, certain easily-killed mobs have been fixed for a longer spawn time (previously a few seconds vs 5 minutes). However, you can easily farm the required 50 scrolls in 2 hours with a group of 5 at the Frostone Vault where the mobs spawn much faster and there is an abundance of them.

The entrance is located at 60.54, 38.17 and this is WITHOUT the need for a buff. If you have buff crystals then by all means use them. My group used two hunters for easy tagging.

In 10.2.6+ use the Froststone Vault to get this done. Try looking in Group Finder for a group. The trick is to buy a few of the buff crystals to hold in your bag. Find a group, go to Frostone Vault for the hyperspawn mobs. DO NOT LOOT FREQUENTLY. The higher drop chance buff only goes away when you loot a scroll. You can build up your lootable corpses for 4-5 minutes, and then loot them all at once. This way, you can get multiple scrolls from one buff crystal. My highest was I looted 8 scrolls from one 5 minute session of killing mobs.

This is a pretty fast achievement if you use the above strategy. You can probably get it done in under an hour if you've got a decent group. Even solo probably wouldnt be that bad.

DO NOT USE THE WAR CRECHE. It is MUCH slower.

So I knocked this out as an ilvl 480ish hunter in around 3 hours from only 2 scrolls previously. I had around 50k Elemental Overflow to start with, so I bought 20 scrying crystals and 3 of the items that let you see treasures, and re-upped the buff every time I looted a scroll.

After I used the first 20, I just kept going back every time I ran out of scrying crystals to buy as many as I could. I was looting around 1-1.5k overflow before I'd get a scroll, so if you want to go at this nonstop you'll need to have a good amount of overflow to start with.

I find hyperspawns mindnumbing, so I just did full clears of the entire war creche over and over. I had the luxury of doing this on a low pop shard and never had anyone interrupting my respawn times, and even had some people join me for a couple clears so that sped them up. I'd clear up to the Warden's room, take the crystal back, and the initial room had re-spawned.

I should also mention all 48 treasures I looted, none were double-lootable. A few lasted *almost* long enough but would despawn before the loot cast bar completed.

Interesting. Once you have collected exactly 50 scrolls (including used ones), they stop dropping. We were hyper farming and I was getting a ton. I had used a few, but when I looted enough to finish, I never got another one. I farmed for a few more minutes to confirm it.

From farming this for the meta achievement added in 10.2.6, I can confirm that the spot mentioned in other comments (/way 58.83 62.43) worked great for farming these. On my guardian druid, I bought 10 of azure scrying crystals from the vendor that give the buff to increase the chance of the scrolls dropping there. In the small courtyard area near the waypoint, I ran around and pulled all of the mobs nearby outdoors, and they'd respawn in about the time it took me to aoe them down. After several minutes, I'd loot them, and if I got any scrolls, I'd use them and then use a scrying crystal to gain the buff and repeat. In 30-40 minutes of farming, I got 11 scrolls (one time two of them dropped in the time between my lootings), which got me 6 mysterious writings, 3 wondrous fish, and 2 draconic artifacts (I guess these mobs don't care much for the centaur tokens), as well as the item drops that can be crafted to summon the leatherworking, tailoring, engineering, and alchemy rares, as well as two of the items for the cooking rare. As a bonus, my druid is also my enchanter, so I was able to disenchant a dozen or so of the weapon, trinket, jewelry, and leather armor items from the 385 ilvl tokens to get a few resonant crystals.

As per other comments, DO NOT farm for these in War Creche. Go to Frostzone Vault and preferably with a group, not solo. Drop rate on scrolls is MUCH higher. If you don't have a group, start one using the group finder. Its so much faster. NPCs spawn infinitely. Farming 50 scrolls takes between 1-2 hours with a group. Don't forget to use vendor scroll to buff drop chance and loot infrequently if you're low on Elemental Overflow.

You can safely use 5 of the same type of scroll at the same time, trying to use a 6th will tell you to collect what you've marked already and will not consume the scroll. You can use 5 of each type so try to mark 20 different treasures on the map before going off to loot them to save time. Don't bother using the scrolls one at a time.

Furthermore, once you use 5 of the same scroll type just go loot one then keep using your surplus, it will always spawn the new one where you're already standing.

This achievement bites. Been farming for 2 weeks now and hardly get any drops from treasures or encounters even with scrying crystals and perception scrolls.

Best way to farm it: buy Azure Scrying Crystal, go to /way 58 66 and kill mobs WITHOUT looting them.

For me ~5-10min of killing i was able to loot 4 scrolls at once (that mean a lot of saving Elemental Overflow - from 1 crystal - 4 scrolls ).

I've found the best farming spot to be at /way 57.91, 66.44

Talonlords' Perch killing Sundered Pillager.

They respawn pretty fast and easy to group up. I got about 2-5 scrolls from just killing them for 30 mins.

Don't forget to buy Azure Scrying Crystal from Kraxxus near war table in town.
I think overall this is better than farming treasures flying around for hours if you have enough Elemental Overflow saved up.

Got all excited, bc I finished the first part of this sub-achievement for the meta, get 10 scrolls. Only to finish another of the sub-achievements and notice. This jump to needing 50 (well 40 more since it counts your first 10). So bad. :(

Joining a "Fork Farm" will significantly speed this farm. I didn't even need the buff from the vendor item ( It will help though ) took me about 50mins to loot 25 scrolls

I don't know what happened, but I hit 49/50 and the scrolls stopped dropping. I farmed mobs and treasures for an hour before that last scroll finally dropped. Definitely recommend a good farming group in the Froststone Vault; I got like 30 scrolls really, really fast with that method.

A good spot to farm is /way 36.37 18.66 kill a load of the Irontide mobs, they drop better than the treasures or other npcs and respawn quick!

Hopefully I can answer some people's questions regarding this intimidating achievement chain...

The best place to farm scrolls is in the depths of Froststone Vault. And whilst farming these you're going to want to grab yourself several Azure Scrying Crystal from Kraxxus for 2000 Elemental Overflow.

One thing to note about the Azure Scrying Crystal, which I realized after, is that as soon as you loot ANYTHING the buff is consumed and gone. So what you need to do is farm/ kill as many as you can in around about 10 minutes and then mass loot (At least that is what I did).
I got 68 scrolls with the use of 13 Azure Scrying Crystal which was a period of 2 hr 10 min. And 68 is just too many... I messed up.
You only need in total 50 for both X Marks the Spot and Scroll Hunter!
You can sometimes find a group of people to get these down faster on group finder, or list one up of course.

The following scrolls will aid you to your achievements:

Now once you have these scrolls, you can click the same scroll around about ~5 times and 5 red 'X' will appear on your map, then game will then not let you click another to prevent you from wasting them!
A nice quick way of using the scroll will be able to max out a certain scroll, then stay at one point, loot, click the same scroll again and the easy cycle will continue.

A different way to put the above, say you have 20 Sealed Fish Scroll, you click it 5 times, the game will not let you have more than 5 active X on your map. Go to one of the X, loot the fish, and click another Sealed Fish Scroll, the fish will be at you feet every time :)

The action of looting the item from the X contributes towards the achievement, you don't exactly need to hand them in, but you can of course!

Wondrous Fish goes to Turik
Token of Blessing goes to Storykeeper Ashekh
Draconic Artifact goes to Cataloger Daela
Mysterious Writings goes to Kraxxus

It seems there are exactly 5 treasure points for each type of scroll, so if you farm up a bunch all at once you can activate your 5 scrolls, go to one of them and loot it then activate another scroll and it will give you that same treasure you just looted again. This will let you chew through large numbers of scrolls without going across the map many times.

Save yourself some time and do this achievement after you do all the other treasure and rare associated achievements in the Reach BECAUSE these scrolls have the chance to drop off of rares and from treasures. So if you save all the scrolls from doing those achievements, you will end up having to farm less scrolls. Froststone Vault is still the best place to farm scrolls. Join a farming group and go crazy. There is an achievement for 10 scroll treasures, but the one you need for the meta achievement is 50 scrolls.

The most effective method I’ve found is to knock down all the bosses that appear in grey circles on the map, get the forbidden hoard chest every time, farm for as much elemental overflow as possible and buy lots of the Azure Scrying Crystals and Reliquary Scroll of Perception. Then knock down lots of the Irontide mobs which can occasionally drop 2 scrolls if you pull enough of them. And then repeat with another Scrying Crystal.

Also have the Vicnette Announcer addon and the TomTom addon which will announce when a boss has spawned and when small chests are nearby for more overflow and scrolls!

I know it’s a long and costly way of doing it, but at least you know you’re going to get the scrolls! I haven’t tried the farming groups, but on here it seems to be effective!

This particular achievement is just unpleasant! Cannot wait to get off this island 😅

Made a quick and dirty macro to show how many scrolls you currently have (totals up the number of Sealed Artifact Scroll + Sealed Spirit Scroll + Sealed Fish Scroll + Sealed Knowledge Scroll you have in your bags) against the remaining scrolls you need to complete the achievement.

One of the worst achievments I remember!
After completing it with the help of SerroDon's comment, the drop rate increased significantly!
Before I was getting 1 scroll per hour with the buff on from normal play.
Now I get them all 10 minutes, when killing several mobs.
Did Blizzard fix the droprate after 26. April 2024?
Or is there a hidden buff which increases the drop rate with the Inselbegabung Inselbegabung achievement?
This is most strange and frustrating after having such a hard time to get the scrolls.
