One of the easier heroic achievements, all you need to do is run Violet Hold enough times. Two out of the six bosses will be randomly fought, plus Cyanigosa. The minimum amount of runs you will need to do is three, but that is if you are extremely lucky.

This achievement, like every other random achievement, sucks. You can be extremely lucky or you need to wait for one boss for weeks. I did this instance every f!cking day and we're waiting for Zuramat for weeks.
Im not sure if every boss has the same chance to appear, other opinions could be helpful here.

I Don't know about possibilities but i was zuramat's favorite.. fought him more than 5 times while i waited more than a week for lavathor and morrag. probably rng playing with our nerves........

I checked my achievement page today on armory, and I have defeated Cyanigosa on heroic 13 times, and still I have not seen Zuramat. 26 random bosses chosen from a pool of 6, and it's always the same 5. Amusing, and annoying.

As an achievement based mostly on luck, it's fairly annoying. However, you can tilt the odds in your favour, so it's not too bad.

If you're nearing completion of Glory of the Hero and still don't have this achievement, there are two things you can do. Firstly, you can put messages on your realm forum and trade, offering to buy a heroic instance ID for a Violet Hold with the boss you need as one of the spawns, and not yet killed. Offer 100g upon completion of the run provided that the boss was in the instance, and had not yet been killed (if they're killed a placeholder spawns that doesn't give credit).

Secondly, you can ask your guild for assistance. Ask your guildies to do some heroic VH runs if they get a chance, and if they get the boss you need, either wipe or port out, and give you the ID - otherwise they can continue with the run and collect their badges. If a couple guild groups do this for you you greatly increase the chances of having one group getting the boss you want.

Personally, I'm probably going to have to do one of these - I have three achievements left for Glory of the Hero, this being one of them. I just can't get Lavanthor to spawn. >.< So I'll try and get the guild to help. =)

Sadly, this is the last achievement for me and Ive never seen Moragg boss. Recently I got an idea but had not chance yet to try it. Here is my plan.
Build up a group with a mage, enter the instance and kill first 6 waves. At the middle of 6th wave mage opens portal to Dalaran and as soon as trash is dead/about to die, all group but one person (who has/doesnt need achievement) takes portal. The person inside confirms which exactly boss going to spawn and then either dies (or takes portal too). But, its important, if the boss is the one you looking for, that last guy has to make sure to get saved. Then, if it was desired boss, group reenter the instance and kill it, or if not, the only person saved getting replaced with "fresh" player. Repeat :)
The only unclear part for me right now (which may prevent it from working) is the exact moment when group getting instance ID. As far as I remember its when first boss' cage is opened. Can anyone confirm that?
And of course, such a plan required a lot of dedication and help from the guild/friends.

This achievement is bugged for me. Can't even count how many times I've killed Xevozz but it wont give me credit. Actually went in today and he was the first boss to come out. Killed him, finish the whole instance without wipping and still no achievement. Anyone else having problems?

3.5 months of doing the 2 first bosses about 2-3 times a week, last achievement left for Glory of the Hero. I have yet to see Lavanthor once, gotta love random bosses.

Missing this one from Glory of the hero and it makes me cry. Super fun to wait for weeks to get Drake. Just because you have bad luck with it. Gogo Moragg ! ;)

The boss rates are confusing, but if you take away about 30 minutes a day (if you have a premade group of players who will run it with you daily) then you'll get this eventually.

I've noticed some bosses seem weighted. I get Lavanthor (that's the dog thing, right?) and Ichoron a ton, but few others.

I believe Moragg and Ichoron is the one with the less chance to spawn... on my GotH group, everyone was missing Moragg by the end of it.

I feel the pain of people missing this one. :(

I believe these bosses have the same chance of spawning... I read about ppl trying to get zuramath and moragg, but I almost always see them. The ethereal spawns quite often too, Ichoron is kinda rare and I NEVER saw Ereken... ever.

After about 10 runs of VH hc, i have had this:

Moragg: 8/10
Zuramat: 5/10
Lavanthor: 2/10
Erekem: 3/10
Ichoron: 2/10
Xevozz: 0/10

Xevozz doesn't like to come out.

Two runs and I'm missing two of them (Xevozz and Zuramat). Maybe this is where my luck lies...since it doesn't work on my drops/rolls...

Finally got this achievement 10/27/09! I've been playing WOTLK since it first came out and been doing Violet Hold... Not everyday but it took this long to finally get it.

Ok, I now have aproximately month and a half doing VH everyday and Im still missing this achievement... I need to kill Xevoxx and once again, did not spawn today.

On my hunter I used to get Ichoron all the time on my server, switched servers and got all of them on my Druid but Ichoron now i swiched back to my old server, I'm Lockdown and Dehydratation short for my GotH. Ichoron WONT SPAWN !

My luck seems to be against the statistics. Done VH over 12 times, and still yet to encounter Erekem or Moragg. This achievment is based on 100% luck of getting the correct bosses. Still yet to get Glory of the Hero, because of this mainly :P.

Tried with 3 characters to catch xevozz, finally got him with my pally and killed him. I asked friend to join my grp and enter instance (hold save), after i reseted instance Xevozz was replaced by some Ethereal Wind Trader, and that does not count to achivment.

This achievement can be completed much easier with a friend, all you need is a couple of alts and you increase your chances enormously. This is possible because you dont get locked out in this heroic until you defeat a boss you can find out which will spawn and if you dont need it wipe and you can get a different boss.

First you run the instance like normal to the first boss, if its not one you need die.
Run the instance with your friend on your alts, if the boss is one that either or both of you need then die.
leave the group on your alt and log over to your main and get you friend to invite you, you will now get the boss you need.
Your friend can also leave once he has invited your main and log over if he needs the boss.
The boss will be the same each time as long as you stay in the same instance (so atleast one of you in there)

Managed to complete this achievement within 3 days using this method.

Edit: forgot to add that once you wipe you will need to walk out and reset the instance before going back in.

So I finally got this achievement today, obviously at level 90 (hunter).

I played Wrath back in 2009 and never saw either Xevozz or Zuramat. I have done VH once a day for about the past week with no luck until today. When I did it today, I kept Zuramat targeted between every round (1-6). I was a little impressed to see him come out. Afterwards I started targeting Xevozz every round (7-12) and was very pleased to see him also spawn.

I really doubt targeting these guys before they spawned had any mechanical thing to do with them coming out, but if anyone is having trouble getting one of them to spawn, I suppose it'd be worth a try.

Today the achievement did not update when I slew Zuramat. Is it bugged in 6.0.3?

To elaborate, I burned him down the moment he went active. A Void Dance didn't award either, but the dungeon itself acknowledged that the prisoner was killed.

Players with pets be warned...

I have a level 100 Hunter and I've been doing Violet Hold every day for about two weeks now... And then, today, the last guy I needed showed up. I auto-attacked him, but my pet one-shot him first, and I didn't get credit. So, put your pet on passive or just dismiss it...

Damn, been trying to get this for two weeks already, I only need "Lavanthor" to get it and to finally get ym red proto drake, and no luck so far.
Almost always I get the same two bosses, they seldom change :v
Any advice or this just depends entirely on luck?

You will need a minimum of 3 days to complete this achievement if you are lucky.
However you can still do it in a maximum of 5 days.

Suppose you have killed 0/6 of the bosses needed for the achi.
1st day - you get 2/6
2nd day - you go in and clear 6 waves. If a boss you don't need spawns: teleport out, suicide or let the mobs bring the shield to 0%. (you can suicide by drowning in the pool of water where Ichoron spawns). Without killing the first boss, you can reset the instance and try again with a chance to have another boss spawn first. After killing the first boss, you can no longer reset the instance. You can however go on and kill the second boss in the instance after wave 12, and hope you get another boss that you need for the achievement.
3rd to 5th day - repeat the above until you get all the bosses that you need.

Good luck and remember to remove your gear before the first boss spawns, in case you need to suicide.

It's POSSIBLE to reroll the first boss.

So, during legion prepatch I'm trying to do the Lockdown! achievment and Zuramat and Erekem are the last I need. I've read through the web to find a way to reset the boss spawns and didnt, also I read above that "you are save when the saboteur runs to the boss". I've tried hearting to Dalaran after the saboteur ran to Ichoron, reseting the instance and going in and I got the same boss again - Ichoron as the first escaped prisoner the first time after hearting to Dalaran. So i tried using the garrison hs, then reseting the instance and going back to VH and to my surprise, the saboteur now ran to Lavanthor. As it's not the one I need i hs'd to garrison again, got back to Dala and VH, and now the first prisoner was Erekem YAY!, killed him, 12 portal was Lavanthor again, left the instance but wasnt able to reset. So its just possible to reroll the first boss, MAYBE its because of leaving the continent, not just the instance, I dont know, but it worked. Rerolling the first boss still seems way better than trusting entirely on RNG.

UPDATE: You get saved when the boss finishes his fabulous exit animation and engages something, not anytime before. So just after the 5th portal closes start casting your hearthstone and if the saboteur starts opening the prison you dont need, let the cast finish, if its the one you need, cancel the cast, kill the boss and voila. Alternate between hearthstones to beat the 15 min cd. Cheers

An easy way to reset dungeon is dropping combat when first boss spawns. Hunters, rogues, night elves with shadowmeld you can drop the combat and boss will despawn, exit portal will appear and you can just leave, reset, come back without using hs or premade group 1 minute trick

I got really lucky as I played in WOTLK and ran Heroic Violet Hold whenever it was the daily, all I needed was the Xevozz who was the only one I guess I never encountered back then. I go in and the first boss is him. If you guys still have an old toon that you don't play that played back then, and is higher than 80, maybe try to see if you had some progress on this achievement from back in the day, it might save you a lot of days.

The boss reset trick stills works - yay. I'm currently on instance lockout ("You have entered too many instances recently") and I STILL haven't encountered Xevozz and Ichoron. This is the second time I've recently tried the reset trick to tick off this achievement and Ichoron's 'Dehydration'. Will just have to keep trying for the bosses I need...

On the plus side, I've had my Darnassus Tabard equipped and although it's 15-30 rep per kill, it adds up. I've been doing the remaining achievements left to get Glory of the Hero at the same time as trying to obtain all of the Argent Tournament mounts. Equipping a Tabard and running any of the dungeons in Northrend on heroic seems to be the fastest way to get to exalted with Darnassus, the Exodar, Stormwind, Gnomeregan and Ironforge after you have championed each through the Tournament dailies. Perfect time to work on your Glory of the Hero achievements, since you will already be running the dungeons multiple times!

Don't be stupid like me and try to do this from Legion Dalaran. Go to OLD Dalaran in Northrend. I was trying the legion Dalaran version and struggled with the bosses and never got the bosses I needed. Like I said..... stupid!

Just a tip for those who might be getting tired of running The Violet Hold trying to get X to spawn, and getting other bosses instead. Once you clear the first 6 portals you'll get the first boss. If it's not X just logout and wait a few minutes. When you login you can run out, reset the instance, and try again. As long as you don't kill the first boss you can repeatedly reset the instance until you get X as the first boss.

Taken from the Dehydration achievement comment section. God knows why this comment section is so useless and vague.

Tried feign death as a way to reset the boss after the wrong one was summoned, this does not work, as I got Lavanthor consecutively every time. And for some reason, when I started the encounter over by talking to Sinclari, the portals started spawning two at a time and did not stop spawning during boss encounters. Not a problem for me at level 120, but if any of you are attempting to solo this at or near the intended level, I wouldn't recommend it.

I need the last boss on two different characters (different bosses).

So far I've run this thing 40+ more times for it, hit 3 temporary instance lockouts, and the logout timer almost screwed me on a full 24-hour lockout.

I've gotten almost all the Glory achievements, and they all have that one or two last achievs that are a royal pain. It's to be expected. This, however, takes the cake in level of absurdity.

There is NO reason that a Glory achieve with this many sub achievs, that ALREADY has another achievement that has a 3 day timegate, should be locked behind this massive RNG-fest.

Good luck to those also trying to get this as the last achieve for Glory. It's insanely frustrating.

I had to run this quite a few times when the only one I still needed was Xevozz. I was able to constantly reset the fight if it wasn't the boss I needed by shadowmelding when combat with the first boss started, running out of the dungeon and resetting all instances. The one and only time I ran in started the dungeon, targeted Xevozz and gave him a wave, he was let out of his cage. Maybe he just needed a friend! :) gl all!

-Go through dungeon like normal
-Once killing 6 portals, boss will spawn
-If it's not boss you need for achievement, start a group in premade groups, right click your portrait, leave party
-You will be put at the graveyard in Dalaran.
-Right click portrait and reset instances
-Rinse and repeat until you get boss you need for achievement.

NOTICE: if you get boss you need and kill it, you will become saved to the instance and will no longer be able to reset the instance, so you will have to wait for the next day.

With this trick, you can make the achievement take a maximum of 5 days (2 first run) (4 runs of one new one duplicate (worst case scenario))
